Unfortunately I don't have the tools to carry out a scan/diagnostics, but any info you can offer will be appreciated. When buying a BMW coding cable, its important to make sure youve bought the right one for your vehicle F and G Series cars will need an ENET cable, while older E Series cars need a DCAN cable. The vehicle had already been booked at BMW for this coming Thursday for a few items, and now I will include this to the list, but I wanted to know from you fellow fanatics if there is anything else I can do, like battery reset, etc. To code your car, youll need to connect your laptop to your car with the appropriate coding cable. you reach the SRS control unit you should be able to read airbag fault codes. No idea what that means, but maybe it is helpful. The following functions can be coded in the BMW E90 bend lighting control. Then if I hold the "BC" button down for +-5 seconds the following "CC - ID 97" comes up below the airbag light. Also, when I go onto the OBC and do a "check" the airbag light comes on. Now I checked the belt tensioner system by pulling hard on the seatbelt, and that seems to working fine. Only that there is a possibility that the airbag and/or belt tensioner system has malfunctioned, and that it must be taken to BMW ASAP. They may in fact be clearing it but as makkan said, if the reason the code is there is because there is a fault in the airbag circuit and you haven't fixed it, it will not go away. I looked in the manual and it doesn't say much. You need to find those, sort out the cause, clear airbag light and you should be good to go really.
I didn't crash or anything, it just came on while cruising through town. Yesterday while driving my airbag and seatbelt light came on simultaneously. Before you shoot me, I did do a search, but since the word "light" has been mentioned tens of thousands of times, I gave up after reading for about 30 minutes.
